Alonso to run Honda update at Sepang

Fernando Alonso will run Honda's latest engine upgrade at the Malaysian Grand Prix after the Japanese manufacturer spent two of its remaining tokens. The double World Champion will trial the upgraded power unit in Friday's practices before a decision is made on whether to continue using it for the rest of the weekend. Honda have updated the exhaust and engine block, reducing the weight and boosting efficiency. Only Alonso will trial the new unit at Sepang with his team-mate Jenson Button being made to wait until Austin as reports suggest Honda do not want either McLaren driver to face penalties at their home race, the Japanese GP.
