Palmer to miss Mexico qualifying due to cracked chassis

Renault driver Jolyon Palmer will miss qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix after he cracked his chassis in third practice. The British driver ran over the kerbs at the final corner late in the FP3 session, which was enough to pick up the damage. He confirmed the news on Twitter just prior to the start of Q1, confirming it was a crack in the chassis that has caused him to miss qualifying. He had finished third practice in 14th place and was hopeful of making it through to Q2 in qualifying at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
