Third practice called off cancelled due to heavy rain at Sochi
The third and final practice session for the Russian Grand Prix has been cancelled due to wet weather at Sochi. Formula One still intends to stage qualifying at some point on Saturday afternoon. Rain has been forcasted over the days leading to the race weekend at Sochi with heavy showers predicted for the entire event. However, drivers could enjoy some track action yesterday in the two practice sessions when sunny conditions welcomed the field. The heavy rain has arrived today though which meant that the first Formula 2 race could not take place.
