British Grand Prix track invaders convicted over protest

Article To news overview © XPBimages Six 'Just Stop Oil' protesters who invaded the track at the 2022 British Grand Prix have been convicted of 'causing a public nuisance.' Five of the group ran onto the Wellington Straight on the opening lap of the race - which had already been red-flagged following Zhou Guanyu's high-speed, fence-hopping accident at the start. Another protester was later found on the grounds of the Northamptonshire circuit with the group calling for an end to oil and gas projects amid global warming. All six had denied the charges, but were found guilty of 'causing a public nuisance' with risks presented to drivers, fans, marshals and themselves. The group, made up of...
